Local shopping trip

I have a mall about a 3 minuet walk from my home. So today I decided to see what it truly had to offer me as a plus size woman. This is the Sheridan Mall in North York.

The mall has a few stores that I go into normally. We have a Winners, BMO, Ardene, a few different kids stores, and a Walmart.

So not a lot was found today in the mall its self. But the Walmart was a wonderful surprise. I am going to share the pictures from the change room with you all.

I liked this t-shirt. Although a little longer then I would like for $9.99 I would have no problem cutting it off to make it the crop that it is calling out to be. The size I have on here is a xl.

This dress was a miss for me. In a 3x it was just to big. The pattern is just a little to busy. As my husband said when I showed him the picture “it looks too old for you.” If you like it, it’s priced at $24.99

Loved loved loved the jeans. They are a size 24, skinny boyfriend mid rise. Brand name JOEDAVHE and $28.98. Now I am 5 foot 4 and these jeans would not need to be hemmed, and there was no gap in the back. The top fit fine just not my favorite colour. |t’s a 2x and $16.97.

I have two more outfits that I want to talk about for Walmart and I will continue the try on in the next post.

To be continued

Plan for August

I have been watching a lot of YouTube as of late. One of the big things that I have noticed is that we are missing Canadian plus size fashion YouTubers. So I have started thinking why is that?

There are just not as many oppositions in Canada. I can count on one hand the number of stores on one hand that carry only plus sized cloths. Then you have straight size retailers that have plus oppositions. Once again if you wish to shop in store this is very limited.

This is where my journey in going to begin. The plan is to go to one of the largest malls in the Toronto area. And see how many straight sized retailers carry plus sizes in the store. On top of that, how big the selection is and if they will actually fit.

So off the York dale shopping mall I will go. There are a few stores I know for sure that have a plus size area. Forever 21, and The Bay. Then you have the maybes, Old Navy, HnM, and Zara. To be fair that is just off the top of my head.

So we will see maybe I will come back after being supersized and not dismayed. Lets hope so.

Intro to me

For this first post I just want to give you all a little bit of info about me.

I am a mom of a little boy that just turned 1 and I have a bonus son that is 15.

I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I am a plus size woman that has become more comfortable with her own body thanks to my loving husband.

The plan for this blog is to talk about kids fashion and how every hard it can be to find nice stuff for my little boy. And the frustration that comes from walking into a store and having a hard time finding the boys area with the over load of girls stuff.

We’er also going to look at the hard time woman that are plus sized have in finding nice, well fitting affordable clothes without having to shop online.

We will also talk about anything and everything to do with rasing kids in a big city and all the challenges but also all the wonderful things that come from that.

Well that was a lot more then I thought was going to be part of this into to me. With all that my name is Sara J and I look forward to talking to you all again.
